I am so excited that you are interested in choosing me to document your family!
I started this whole journey off a notion of trying to preserve the most precious moments with my daddy as he battled early on-set alzheimer's. I firmly believe in raw, authentic images that evoke emotions when you look at them. I want you to hear your kids laughter through an image, remember the touch of holding your grandmother's hand while you watched the sunset together, or even recall the smell of cologne on your husband as you walked along the shoreline together.
Family pictures are an investment, but I can promise that this is one investment you will never regret.

I am so excited you're here! After photographing hundreds of beach portrait sessions over the past summers, I’ve found that I'm not the perfect fit for every family. Before booking, please take a look at my portfolio to make sure my editing style and posing is exactly what you are looking for.
I enjoy bringing my families and couples closer to one another during our session. I rarely focus on getting everyone to smile at the camera. The majority of our time together you will be looking at one another or away from me. These sessions are ALLL about connection.
LET's CONNECT
After confirming a date for your session, I will send over a contract, invoice and questionnaire to get to know you. There are various questions to answer that will help me get to know about you and your family.
We will also talk location and chat about what you want your session to look like. If you're not sure about which beach you would like to take your photos but you have a general idea of the look you would like, just let us know because I would be happy to recommend a few locations based on your aesthetic!

Most sessions are held during sunrise or one-two hours prior to sunset. We will meet at our agreed upon location and spend up to 60 minutes together. You will be assisted with posing and prompts to get a blended gallery of posed and non-posed images. If you have any requests, please let me know so we can accomplish any pose you may want.
The SEssion

All images from my sessions are typically delivered within three- four weeks of the shoot date via an online gallery, unless otherwise noted. This gallery will allow you to share your favorites with family, order prints and even download images to share on social media.
Your gallery will remain active for six weeks. I recommend downloading your images to an external drive or digital cloud for your own safe-keeping.

BEACH PORTRAIT SESSION FEES
*To book your session you MUST pay a 50% retainer and SIGN a contract. If neither are completed within 24 hours, your date will go to the next person.
Total is due 1 week before your session date. All collections are subject to a 10% sales tax.

living like a local
lifestyle session
This is my #1 favorite Orange Beach portrait session location. Located right under the bridge at Perdido Pass, this area offers absolutely everything you could want for a beach session. From sandy dunes and rustic boardwalks, to clear, emerald gulf waters and beautiful jetties that frame the setting sun perfectly, this is the picture perfect spot.
The only thing to be aware of here is the boardwalk to reach the jetties is a quarter of a mile, so be ready to walk!
Alabama Point

This one is pretty vague and can be narrowed down depending on the look you are going for during your session. This image in particular was taken by the Gulf State Park Pavillion. Rolling dunes, beautiful wooden boardwalks and structures, the beautiful white sands and blue waters make this an ideal location for any beach portraits. There are also bike trails and additional boardwalks across the street.
The downside? This beach is typically a little more crowded and a very popular area for beach weddings.
Gulf State Park

Shell Beach is just a hop and a skip away from Alabama Point, and offers a lot of similar scenery, but with a MUCH shorter walk. This spot is located just beyond Perdio Pass and has beautiful dunes and crystal clear waters. The best part about it: no condos or buildings along the shore line!
No downside really, here! If you are looking for a classic beach portrait session, this is a great place for it.

If you're looking for a little more outfit inspiration, I recommend heading over to my Instagram to scroll through past sessions and get outfit ideas for the entire family.
FIND INSPIRATION
With the growth of online shops, shopping for your littles is more fun than ever! I recommend choosing color families (neutrals, blues, etc) over perfectly matching outfits.
For the Littles
When picking outfits I recommend keeping in mind the word “complement” rather than “match.” For example, if Dad is wearing a blue and pink pastel plaid shirt, Mom may want to choose a long, soft blue dress. It can also be a great idea to choose “color-families,” such as pastels or neutral tones.

The sooner the better! My summers tend to fill up pretty quickly - especially during the months of June-October, so the sooner you reach out to me, the more likely you are to get your desired date!
To reserve your date, I'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let me know!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?
Unless you've modeled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. Heck, I take photos for a living and I even feel like a deer in the headlights when I'm in front of the camera.
You're going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on and I coach you through images, we think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And don't worry about your kids. I'm well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.
We're Awkward and my kids don't sit still.
No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, I'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule. If it's a light rain, like we often get on the coast, there is a location we can swap to in the event a reschedule is not possible.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, albums and other keepsakes as easy as turning on a Roomba to clean your floors. No worrying about tricky things like color correction, DPI and image format.
